In 2023, Interaction has been the proud sponsor of Pennant Hills Junior AFL Club’s Kickability program, a team for kids with disability. With the season now over, the Kickability Coach has shared a Season Review.

This season, Pennant Hills Junior AFL Club, had a record number of kids join the program as we became the largest Kickability club in NSW. We hosted a combined Gala Day with Auskick and concluded the season with a sensational half-time appearance at Giants Stadium followed by our own Grand Final Day at Ern Holmes Oval!  It was thoroughly enjoyable and a pleasure to coach the Kickability Program at Pennant Hills Demons Junior AFL Club.

In our record attendance year, we moved to a Sunday morning schedule and welcomed 27 new players to the great game of AFL.

All the kids have been a pleasure and honour to coach over the whole season, no matter how early, or late, they joined.

Kickability is all about introducing kids to the game of AFL and ensuring that it is accessible, and inclusive, to everyone in the community by promoting “hands-on” learning and fun, at our own level.  The AFL Kickability program is for young people aged 5-16, who identify living with disability, or may need some additional support playing Australian football. Should playing at your local football club be a little daunting, then Kickability is here to help your child. The program is aimed to provide families with the comfort that their child can play footy, however they like.

The team had endless fun every Sunday morning come rain, hail or shine. They learnt new AFL skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and how to make new friends, socialise and enjoy life through sport. They even challenged their parents to a match!

The best part was seeing all the kids (and parents) develop, improve their confidence and enjoy playing AFL every week.

A big thank you to Julie and Mark for their assistance in coaching and training and to Steve, Pete, Paul & Mick from the club for all their behind-the-scenes logistical efforts.

We hope to be able to do it all again & more in 2024!
