Robust Category Housing – Expressions of Interest

Interaction Disability Services is seeking Expressions of Interest from NDIS participants who are looking for long term accommodation in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) built to the Robust Category in Sydney’s West, North West or Central Coast.

SDA refers to accommodation for eligible participants who have an extreme functional impairment or very high supports needs.  Funding is only provided to a small percentage of NDIS participants who meet specific eligibility criteria.

Robust housing is designed and built to be resilient and provide a high level of physical access provisions. This is achieved through the use of products, materials and features that minimise risk to participants and the community.  The designs in the proposed properties will include adequate space and safeguards to support the needs of residents with complex behaviours and provide areas of retreat for other residents and staff to avoid harm.

SDA will provide funding towards the cost of the physical environment for eligible NDIS participants to live and receive their daily supports.

Interaction is looking to provide self-contained 1 and 2 bedroom villa style accommodation.  The cluster of villas will also provide internal and external communal areas that can be used by the tenants for social gatherings with other tenants, family and friends.

Interaction will provide 24 hr support to residents.

The accommodation will be purpose built and depending on demand for the accommodation will be constructed in either Western Sydney, North Western Sydney or the Central Coast within the next 18 to 24 months.
