Support Workers – Community Access

We currently have four casual opportunities available at Interaction in Community Access and Self-Care.

The aim of these roles is to support people with disabilities, and to assist them to live independent and productive lives. The support is primarily in their own home or in the community. We are currently looking for supportive, reliable, highly motivated Support Workers to work alongside our participants who have a range of differing needs.

About You

You will thrive in what can sometimes be a challenging environment:

  • Experience in supporting people with Intellectual Disability with relevant industry experience;
  • Demonstrated resilience to episodes of challenging behaviour;
  • Willingness to work across a range of shifts including split shifts, weekends/public holidays, sleepovers, and active wake shifts;
  • Willingness to assist with personal care such as grooming which can include showering, toileting or other;
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team as well as autonomously;
  • Intermediate capabilities in Microsoft applications;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates or willing to obtain prior to commencement of employment;
  • Current driver’s licence and comprehensively owned and insured vehicle;
  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain prior to commencement of employment;
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain prior to commencement of employment.

Remuneration
