About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers for multiple positions within our accommodation site at South Windsor. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic, honest, reliable, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

About You

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with personal care tasks such as grooming and toileting.
  • Demonstrate resilience with the ability to deescalate episodes of challenging behaviour.
  • Rosters are available to work across various shifts, including split shifts, short shifts, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and active wake shifts.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and work autonomously when required.
  • Maintain accurate records and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Team player who communicates effectively with colleagues and families.
  • Professional boundaries while building rapport.
  • Commitment to person-centred approaches and individual choice.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other co-occurring conditions.
  • Experience with de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex behavioural needs.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care as needed.
  • Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant qualification in disability, community services, or health sector (Certificate III minimum, Certificate IV or Diploma preferred).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates, or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • A comprehensively insured and registered vehicle.
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
