About the Opportunity

As Speech Pathology Lead with Interaction Disability Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and guiding an emerging speech pathology team while contributing to the strategic and operational direction of our service.

We are currently looking for an experienced, dedicated, values driven and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our allied health team based at our Bella Vista office. You’ll begin your role as a Speech Pathology Lead, consolidating your clinical and administrative skills while helping to develop and expand this new service within our existing allied health team. To support the growth your client load will be adjusted so you can balance your clinical load with your leadership role. This role will require knowledge in policies and procedure design, as well as the day-to-day responsibilities of leading a new and emerging team.

In this rewarding role, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with disability and engage closely with participants and key stakeholders. Reporting to the Practice Manager you will require a vast knowledge and experience across a wide range of participant needs, from children to adults. By building strong relationships with participants and understanding their support network and goals, you will play a key role in providing speech pathology services that drive the best possible outcomes for our participants.

We’re seeking a confident team member who has experience in taking ownership of client work, supervising clinicians and associated responsibilities. Registration as a Speech Pathologist with SPA, along with a strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators is essential.

About You

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and communication assessments for NDIS participants.
  • Design and implement evidence-based therapy plans that promote positive outcomes and reduce barriers to communication.
  • Provide mentoring, supervision, and professional development to team members, supporting high-quality clinical outcomes.
  • Deliver training and guidance to families, carers, and staff on implementing communication strategies and therapy plans.
  • Ensure all interventions comply with organisational policies, procedures, and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission regulations.
  • Contribute to Interaction’s Clinical Governance framework.
  • Develop therapy and support strategies that reflect each participant’s goals, preferences, and values, ensuring they have an active role in their planning.
  • Collaborate with other therapists, carers, families, and health professionals to provide integrated, holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with defensible documentation standards.
  • Manage workflow, allocate referrals, and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Contribute to the operational and strategic direction of the speech pathology service, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Engage effectively with participants, families, and external stakeholders to ensure person-centred outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Approved qualification in Speech Pathology and current Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) registration
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience, including NDIS service delivery and complex communication needs.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience supervising clinicians and managing teams.
  • Experience supporting individuals living with disability.
  • Understanding and commitment to providing ethical, high-quality, person-centred service.
  • Commitment and ability to work with a range of people, their families/stakeholders, with complex needs, to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of NDIS processes, compliance requirements, and person-centred planning.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop therapy plans, and ensure evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for working with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competence in clinical documentation, reports and case noting aligned with defensible documentation standards.
  • Computer literacy in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and other current applications.
  • Excellent time management as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • A comprehensively insured and registered vehicle.
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain these.
