About the Opportunity

This role is perfect for a proactive and adaptable HR professional who enjoys balancing HR administration with broader people and culture initiatives. As a key point of contact for all things HR, you will play a crucial role in supporting employees, streamlining processes, and leading the WHS committee.

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will play a vital role in enhancing HR systems and processes, ensuring compliance with awards and policies, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting performance meetings and workplace investigations. In addition, you will provide exceptional customer service to employees and managers. Throughout your role, you will receive strong support from both the People & Culture Manager and Coordinator.

About You

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, providing guidance and support to employees and managers.
  • Managing the HR inbox, responding to enquiries and providing general advice.
  • Handling HR administration, including contracts, onboarding, compliance, and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Supporting end-to-end recruitment, from drafting job ads and position descriptions to coordinating interviews.
  • Driving HR projects, including employee engagement, learning and development, and policy improvements.
  • Work closely with our payroll team, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with the SCHADS Award.
  • Leading the WHS committee, promoting a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Managing workers’ compensation claims and acting as the Return-to-Work Coordinator, supporting injured employees through their recovery and reintegration into the workplace.
  • Providing hands-on support across HR functions, whether assisting with policy implementation, coordinating workplace initiatives, or supporting operational changes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources.
  • Previous experience in HR, ideally within a generalist or advisory capacity.
  • Strong HR administration skills, including onboarding, contracts, and training compliance.
  • Previous experience using HRIS platforms (Employment Hero preferred).
  • Preferred experience in interpreting and providing guidance on the SCHADS Award.
  • Knowledge of workplace, health and safety (WHS) principles, with experience leading or contributing to a WHS committee.
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation and experience as a Return-to-Work Coordinator (or willingness to develop in this area).
  • Understanding of recruitment processes, including job advertising, drafting position descriptions, and interview coordination.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll processes and collaboration with our payroll team.
