Support Worker – Baulkham Hills

We currently have a permanent part-time position, 47 hours per fortnight vacant in one of our high support houses in Baulkham Hills. We are looking for a supportive, reliable, highly motivated and energetic Support Worker to work with 3 residents with Prader Willi Syndrome (PWS). Shifts include morning shifts during the week and sleepover shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights on a set rotating roster.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in supporting people with an Intellectual Disability (ID), PWS and/or other relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated resilience to episodes of challenging behaviour
  • Willingness to work across a range of shifts including split shifts, weekends/public holidays and sleep overs
  • Willingness to complete personal care such as assisting in showering and toileting
  • Willingness and ability to provide active support in the community undertaking activities such as nature walks, exercise programs, swimming and attending the movies
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team as well as autonomously
  • Computer literate with capability in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and other related software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one before the commencement of employment
  • Current driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle
  • Valid NDIS Workers Screening Check or willing to obtain one before commencement of employment
  • Cert 3 in Disability
