Royal Commission Issues Notices to Produce
The Disability Royal Commission has recently issued a large number of Notices to Produce and Notices to Give Information to a large number of service providers.
According to the Royal Commission, the ‘scope is broad-ranging and the questions are detailed. The information requests go well beyond anticipated questions on organisational details and response to incidents; they include how providers facilitate choice and control for clients and how people with disability are represented in their organisational structure.’
These Notices to Produce and Notices to Give Information have requested detailed information regarding service providers’ organisational structure and governance, representation of people with disability, strategies within the organisation for preventing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation, as well as numerous other significant issues.
This information has been requested for the period 1 January 205 to present, and notified organisations have approximately 6 weeks to respond.
